Fall in Minnesota – when done right, it doesn’t get much better! With the temps dropping and fall holidays right around the corner, our thoughts turn to coffee more than ever. That glorious drink that warms us up from the inside out can also be a deliciously spooky part of your family’s Halloween traditions. Read on for three Halloween coffee recipes to try! 

Ogre Eyes Hot Chocolate

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces of bittersweet chocolate (60 – 70%)
  • Chocolate shavings
  • 1 Tbsp of powdered sugar
  • ½ c heavy cream
  • 1 ½ c whole milk
  • 1 cup of your favorite French Roast Coffee
  • Whipped Cream to taste
  • Large marshmallows, round candies, sprinkles, etc. 

First, chop up your bittersweet chocolates. In a medium saucepan, whisk together the milk, cream, and sugar over medium heat. Warm until bubbles start to appear along the edges. (Don’t allow the mixture to come to a boil.) Remove from heat and add the chopped up chocolates. Allow to cool for two minutes. Whisk until the mixture reaches a rich chocolate color and then set aside and allow to sit for another 5 minutes. 

Brew your French Roast Coffee. Pour the coffee into mugs and add the chocolate and cream mixture. Garnish with whipped cream and assemble ‘ogre eyes’ out of large marshmallows and candies. serve to your assemblage of goblins and trolls.

Ghostly Irish Coffee 

Once it’s time to put your little Goblins to bed, serve this Irish coffee to the adults at your Halloween party!

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Breakfast Blend Coffee
  • 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons of your preferred Irish whiskey
  • Whipped cream to taste 

Brew your coffee and pour it into a warmed glass about ¾ full. Add brown sugar and stir until it is completely dissolved. Blend in your favorite whiskey and top with whipped cream. A crowd-pleasing favorite that is both simple and delicious.

Espresso Brownies 

We dare you not to fall in love with these Espresso Brownies. They are soon to be one of your family’s favorite Halloween coffee recipes! 

Ingredients

  • 1 box of your favorite brownie mix
  • ¼ cup of Flavia Espresso
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup of vegetable oil
  • Green and black icing

First, line a baking pan with parchment paper. Prepare the brownies according to the directions on the box but replace the water with your espresso. Use the parchment paper to pull the brownies out of the pan for ease of decorating. Once the brownies have cooled, decorate them with your icing and watch your family’s eyes light up at this new twist on an old favorite.
